My Beach May 26 2013

The Turquoise Leopard is off to another one of my old stomping grounds.

In the 70's, the beach at Welington Point, near Cleveland, Queensland was a hub!  I used to call it "my beach", I remember the redd, coarse sand littered with broken shells, what seemed like an enormous playground with a killer slippery dip and walking out, as far as the eye could see, when the tide was out to a tiny little island called "King Island"to collect cuttlefish bones for my budgie "Tweety Pie". I also remember strawberries! I presume that rich, red soil was perfect to grow them in!
